My friend Carl Siciliano, of the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBT Youth, and I joined Andy Humm and Ann Northrup on their television show, Gay USA, which has been running on Manhattan Neighborhood Network cable television since the late 80s, to discuss the future of the movement. I imagine LGBTQQA USA would be more difficult to put up on the credits, but I always cringe a little inside when I see the community reduced to a single identity, despite the goodwill that I know the show's hosts have towards the trans community.

We talked about where the trans community is relative to the larger gay community, whether we need a Martin Luther King-type leader, and the issues that will be important in the coming years.

It was quite an interesting chat, and I hope you will find it so as well.
