Promises_Promises_Revival.jpgThis week's sing-off is brought to you by Glee's Thanksgiving episode - which I think is the best Glee I have seen this season. Is it because they do a "Let's Have a Kiki"/"Turkey Lurkey Time" mash-up? Probably.

I first came upon Burt Bacharach's Promises, Promises through the 2003 movie Camp. I saw Camp in an independent movie theater in my college town of Columbia, MO - 30 minutes after getting my ear pierced, and mere months since I first left the conservative isolation of my tiny hometown of Kennett, MO. I was in freshly out gay heaven.

Thanks to that movie, I fell in love with Dreamgirls, Company, and the amazing dance number from Promises, Promises - "Turkey Lurkey Time."

Since then, I have prayed for an office party that would devolve into something as musically manic as the head jerking choreography of this number.

Glee's version made me almost pee a little when the music started and Sarah Jessica Parker spoke the words, "Oooh, she's been a bitch tonight." Rachel breaking into "Turkey Lurkey Time" sealed the deal.

Camp still wins for me. It was my first exposure, the dancing is great, and the song is just not the same without hearing "I'm Still Here" at the end.

As usual, check out the clips after the jump and let me know who you think did it best. Because of the importance of the choreography, I have only selected video clips. There are some much better vocal recording if you just want the music, but it's not the same. Did I miss anyone? Leave a link in the comments.
