john_pam.jpgToday's the day, folks: after nine years, Pam's House Blend is closing its doors and founder Pam Spaulding is retiring from blogging.

Current Pam's House Blend contributors Laurel Ramseyer, Alvin McEwen, and Autumn Sandeen will anchor a new blog at Firedoglake -- which hosted PHB for the past two years -- called Justice For All.

Pam has inspired so many people, myself included, with her incredible activism, in-depth commentary, the invaluable perspective she brings to the table as a Southern lesbian woman of color, her wonderful collegiality, and how tirelessly she's been committed to the Blend while holding down her full-time job and dealing with insane health issues that would have sidelined most people a long time ago.

Of course it's sad to see her go, but it's most important that Pam takes the time to focus on herself, her health, and her family. The LGBT civil rights movement is vastly richer for the innumerable contributions Pam Spaulding has made to it.
