There is Nothing Gay Happening in This Russian Video

A friend alerted me to this amazing video of a group of Russian military men singing Adele's "Skyfall" on a live television broadcast.

Because nothing says "traditional machismo" like a group of men in full military uniform singing a dramatic ballad that was originally performed by a gay icon, right?

Watch the video below and let us know what you think.

For the record, I'm a professional vocal musician myself, and I'm in no way suggesting that men singing together actually says anything whatsoever about their sexual orientation or masculinity. (And in fact, I'm all for men making music!)

But if the point of Russia's draconian crackdown on LGBT people is to enforce rigid, so-called "traditional" constructs of gender and sexuality and eliminate perceived gender transgressions, they should at least be consistent about it, shouldn't they?
