"The Golden Girls" occupies a special place in the hearts of many a gay man.

So deeply embedded are Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia in our collective consciousness that there has been at least one book written on the topic. If you Google "golden girls gay men" you will find an abundance of links with titles such as "why is the Golden Girls so popular among gay men?" and "What's the deal with gay men loving the Golden Girls?."

Now though, the folks over at Challenger Comics present a heretofore unseen perspective on The Golden Girls with Team Gold Force 4. Author Ryan Ferrier, along with artist Felipe Torrent, pose a question perhaps unasked in the history of the The Golden Girls: what if the four women were actually retired government assassins?

Of course, sometimes there's a good reason a question hasn't been asked before.

So have a look at Team Gold Force 4 and let us know what you think: fun re-imagining or sacrilege?
