cecil-gigi-chao.jpgCecil Chao, the Hong Kong billionaire playboy whose quest to find a husband for his 33-year-old lesbian daughter has been making headlines around the world for the past two years, has doubled the reward he's offering to any man who can change her sexual orientation.

In 2012, Mr. Chao publicly announced that he would pay a staggering $65 million to any man who could successfully woo his daughter Gigi. Some 20,000 greedy eager suitors responded, but to no avail. This is hardly surprising when one considers that Gigi is a prominent LGBT activist, is happily married to her longtime female partner, and has repeatedly pleaded with her dad to stop this silly nonsense.

This week Mr. Chao, 76, upped the ante to $120 million. And in an interview with a Malaysian newspaper, he insisted that he was not meddling.

"I don't want to interfere with my daughter's private life," he said. "I only hope for her to have a good marriage and children as well as inherit my business."

For her part, Gigi Chao and her partner Sean are doing their best to be kind and gracious:

"It's just he's from another time and it's difficult for him to understand the plight of the LGBT... at family gatherings we hug and dance. And we just agree to disagree on what marriage is and family is."
