scales_justice.jpgEarlier this month, my tireless and dedicated friend Kathleen Perrin -- better known to the world by the name of her organization, Equality Case Files -- attended oral arguments in DeBoer v. Snyder, the federal court trial in Michigan that will determine the constitutionality of that state's marriage discrimination amendment.

At that trial, discredited researcher and anti-equality activist Mark Regnerus testified as an "expert" witness for the state of Michigan. During testimony and cross-examination, he defended his roundly-repudiated and widely-condemned New Family Structures Study, which claims -- contrary to dozens of scientific studies by dozens of different scholars over the past three decades -- that children of same-sex couples do worse than kids of opposite-sex couples. He also claimed that marriage discrimination serves the state's best interest.

Up until now we've relied on tweets, short newspaper reports, and notes from the courtroom to piece together what Regnerus actually said on the stand. But now, thanks to Kathleen, we have the full transcripts from the trial.

They're great reading -- you'll love Regnerus's poor performance on cross-examination. Check them out, after the jump.

The transcripts containing Regnerus's time on the stand are below. Day 5, part 2 is Regnerus's questioning by the state (which called him in the first place); Day 6, part 1 is the bulk of his cross-examination by opposing counsel; and Day 6, part 2 is the rest of his cross-examination and the state's redirect.
