aydian-dowling-menshealth.pngMen's Health magazine is running a contest to find its cover model for the November 2015 issue, and video blogger Aydian Dowling, a trans man, is leading the popular vote.

USA Today reports:

Aydian Dowling, a video blogger, activist and the creator of a clothing line called Point 5cc, has more than 46,000 votes as of Monday afternoon.

If he wins the contest, which is open for entries until June 21, his photo will appear on the cover of the magazine's November issue.

"I maintain a healthy lifestyle by making sure my life is in a balance," Dowling wrote on his contest entry post. "As a Transgender Male, having a healthy body and mind is my ultimate goal to find peace within my soul."

As of this writing, Aydian now has nearly 49,000 votes. The next closest contestant has just 10,000. Popular votes aren't the only factor that will ultimately determine winner, though -- entrants are also rated by judges on several criteria including health, fitness, professional success, and giving back to their community. Winning the popular vote only counts for 10% of a contestant's final score.

Still, this strong show of support is really neat to see. Good luck, Aydian -- we're rooting for you! Click here to vote for him.
