Dr. Jillian T. Weiss has a J.D. and a Ph.D. in Law, Policy & Society. Currently Professor of Law and Society at Ramapo College of New Jersey, her research area is gender identity and law. She has authored over 50 academic publications, presentations and other scholarly works, as well as approximately 40 articles and interviews for media organizations including The New York Times and Associated Press. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, the nation's largest and oldest LGBT civil rights legal organization. She has previously been a board member of GetEqual, a direct action non-profit organization dedicated to LGBT rights, The Williams Institute Advisory Board, an LGBT rights think-tank at UCLA Law School, and the Board of Advisors of the National Center for Transgender Equality. She also provides consulting services for private and public employers, including Harvard University, Boeing and New York City, and legal representation in cases involving gender identity and gender expression discrimination. She is a member of the National LGBT Bar Association, and co-Chair of the Planning Committee for the 2013 Transgender Law Institute.
